Tom Marsh

Meet Tom, a creative force driven by a lifelong passion for gardening and a natural talent for design and illustration.

From a young age, Tom immersed himself in visually capturing the world around him, honing his skills through studies in Illustration and Fine Art at the Kent Institute with the University of Kent, Canterbury. He was elected as a member of the Society of Architectural Illustrators at the remarkable age of 16.

Tom's journey began in sales at a design company, where he soon discovered his true calling lay in crafting beautiful outdoor spaces. Since 2003, Tom has collaborated with Peter Baldock on a multitude of garden projects, infusing his expertise into each design. Together, they create spaces that not only reflect clients' visions but also seamlessly blend with the natural environment.

For Tom, gardens are not just beautiful places; they are sanctuaries and sources of inspiration. This deep-rooted connection to nature drives his commitment to instilling every project with a sense of tranquility and rejuvenation.

Peter Baldock

Meet Peter, a seasoned gardening expert with a deep-rooted passion for cultivating beauty in the natural world. Peter's childhood was filled with memories of sweet peas blooming under his parent's care, and visits to his uncle, the head gardener at Halstead Place, where he experienced the magic of greenhouses and walled gardens.

Peter's journey into professional gardening began at Hadlow College, where he studied landscaping amenity, honing his skills in design and construction. Following this, Peter embarked on a transformative experience at Pashley Manor Gardens, where he spent a year under the guidance of renowned designer Anthony Du Gard Pasley. His work at Pashley went on to garner recognition through features in publications like Country Life and The Sunday Times.

Building on his expertise, Peter established his own garden design and landscaping business from 2001. However, his true calling emerged when he joined forces with Tom Marsh, forming English Heritage Gardens in 2004. Peter's multi-faceted talents shine as he oversees projects from conception to ongoing care, ensuring each garden thrives year after year under his expert guidance.
